Sacred Heart Catholic School, Shawano, Wisconsin

We continue to have an awesome 2025-2026 school year at Sacred Heart Catholic School Shawano. We welcomed students back for our annual Back to School Night event, where we had an incredible 95 percent attendance of our students and families. Students met their teachers, talked with friends, met new staff, explored the school, saw the updates throughout the building and signed up for service hours.

We held a “Blessing of Students & Backpacks” event at Sacred Heart Parish the day before school started. It was the perfect way to kick off our school year with faith and fellowship. Pastor Edward Looney, brought students up to the front of the church and asked the congregation to raise a hand and participate in a special prayer and blessing over all of the students and staff as they began a new school year.

We welcomed back everyone to the school, including more than 30 new students. We gathered together in the gym for opening prayer, raffle prizes and reminders on how to have a successful school year. There was a lot of energy, smiles, excitement and joy throughout the day. We participated in an All School Mass.

We are looking forward to a fantastic school year filled with learning, faith, growth and friendships centered around our new mission statement: “Sacred Heart Catholic School educates students to be dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by being Cardinals for Christ. We are Christ-centered, uphold high academic standards, show respect, improve each day, serve others, and give thanks.”
