If you walk through the doors of Sacred Heart Catholic School, you will feel it immediately — the hum of learning, the laughter echoing from rooms, the quiet reverence of students preparing for Mass, and the unmistakable sense that this is a place where children are known, loved, and formed in Christ.

In our early childhood rooms, tiny hands have been busy exploring letters, colors, and winter-themed sensory bins. You will find preschoolers bundled up for outdoor adventures, proudly showing off their art projects, or snuggled next to their middle school buddies during story time. Their joy is contagious — the kind that makes even the “big kids” soften and smile. Down the hall, elementary students celebrated the 100th Day of School with counting challenges. Their classrooms are filled with phonics games and math manipulatives. In middle school, leadership has taken center stage and students have stepped into roles as Mass readers, servers, and mentors. Their science labs are full of energy — chemical reactions, engineering challenges, and preparation for the science fair. These middle school students have shown what it means to be role models to their younger school buddies. Every Wednesday, the school gathers for All-School Mass — a moment when the noise of the week quiets and our students lift their voices together. Watching a kindergartner clasp hands with an eighth grader during the Our Father is a reminder of what makes Sacred Heart different.  Faith is not a subject here; it is the air we breathe.

Catholic Schools Week brought the community together in a joyful celebration of our mission. Families filled the pews in red polo shirts for Sunday Mass. Students enjoyed themed days, buddy activities, and a music concert with Christian recording artist Jennie Williamson. Our Open House welcomed new families and parishioners who wanted to see the good work happening within our walls. Classrooms sparkled, teachers greeted visitors, and students showed off their projects with pride. The real story of Sacred Heart is found in the small, everyday moments that shape our students and make Sacred Heart School a family. The story of Sacred Heart is still being written even after more than 135 years as the only Catholic school in Shawano County.
