St. Jude Mission School continues to have an eventful school year. Earlier this year we celebrated our 100th Day of School. The students brought in plain white shirts for an activity.  Our Kindergartners made 100 fingerprints on their shirts. First and Second graders made 100 tally marks, while our 4th and 5th graders wrote the numbers 1 to 100 on their shirts. We brought in donuts for everyone to celebrate 100th Day.

We then went on to celebrate Catholics Schools Week. We had several activities throughout the week including collecting and donating food for the local food pantry. We celebrated our students by giving them a free dress one day. Students either dressed in clothes that represented their culture or brought an item representing their culture. For our volunteers, we held a potluck and every volunteer received a framed picture of all our students, and the students signed their name on the picture frames.  We began the Lenten season by celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass where students, faculty and staff received ashes on their foreheads. Every Friday we prayed the Stations of the Cross as a community. These Lenten events helped us to remember Jesus’ love for us and his sacrifice on the cross. We celebrated Easter as a community remembering that Christ rose and is the Living God.
