St. Peter’s Indian Mission Catholic School successfully concluded its observance of National Catholic Schools Week. This year’s theme, "United in Faith and Community," was brought to life through a series of events that integrated the school’s Catholic identity with the rich heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. The week’s curriculum emphasized service, leadership, and a faith-based theme day to promote student engagement. Highlights of the week included service and community; spirit and nation themes; and sending community letters.

Students took part in a “Thank You” outreach service day by acknowledging the teachers, cooks, secretaries, maintenance workers and bus drivers for all their hard work. The students fostered a spirit of community and friendly competition as they hosted a fun Staff vs. Student basketball game. The students chose different themes of Catholic Schools Week. For example, the students wore patriotic clothing with images of the American flag for Nation Day. In addition, the cafeteria featured "Community Feast" with traditional food of local flavors and high-protein selections such as Indian beef tacos and grilled chicken with fruit.

Students also wrote letters to their teachers, staff members and parents. They expressed their appreciation for all the support they receive for their Catholic faith and education.

St. Peter Indian Mission School continues to be a cornerstone of faith-based education by harmonizing O'odham and Pee Posh traditions with academic excellence. The celebration of Catholic Schools Week reaffirmed St. Peter Indian School’s mission to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of every student, ensuring a bright and faith-filled future for the next generation.
